About: Albatross ...

As clumsy an albatross is on land, the elegant an albatross is when airborne. It's amazing to see them gliding in the wind at see then pass you at high speeds.

Especially landing and take-off is a real challenge. Probably that's why they airborne most of the time. Flying seems effortless. Using the slightest, hardly noticeable change in their wings make them turn. Hardly ever will they need to use their wings to maintain or gain altitude.

Since then I encountered one in Spain (while on a whales spotting tour) and a large colony Waved Albatross on Punta Suarez, Espanola (Galapagos).

About: Waved Albatross ...

The Waved Albatross is commonly seen on Galapagos. A good place to see them is on the island Espanola, Punta Suarez.

The animals allow you to approach them, they have no fear at all. When you walk by, the albatross might even lean to a side so you have the chance to see their eggs. As if they are proud and want to show that to you. One of the magic moments on Galapagos.
